Who is Auntie Debbie?
Auntie Debbie is the inventor of the world’s first interlocking gingerbread house, and the next best thing to the fairy godmother.

How long has Auntie Debbie’s Gingerbread Factory been around?
Auntie Debbie created her gingerbread house operation in November 2002.

Can the kits be shipped?
Yes. Auntie Debbie’s kits can be shipped anywhere in the U.S.A. via DHL. A special shipping carton has been designed to protect the product.

Where do Auntie Debbie’s kit contents come from?
The fresh gingerbread, shortbread and chocolate panels are baked in South Milwaukee, WI. The gourmet decorations come from all over the world.

Is everything in the house edible?
Most definitely yes! The houses are meant to be eaten shortly after being built.

How does the house stay together?
The panels have an interlocking design so that they easily “snap” together so the house stands on its own. Microwavable chocolate is used as a “glue” to keep the panels and decorations securely in place.

How fast does the chocolate “glue” set?
The chocolate sets solidly within a few minutes. If it hardens in the bowl, simply pop it back in the microwave for a few seconds.

Do I need Royal Icing to keep my house and its decorations together?
No. Royal Icing is not needed for these kits. (Nor is a hot glue gun!)

Can children help build and decorate a house?
Yes, it is easy enough for even young children to help. We even include a large sheet of bakers’ parchment as a work surface, so clean-up is easy.

Do I have to make the house look like the picture on the tag?
No. You can be as creative as you like with the decorations. The most important thing is that you have fun doing it!

Are the decorations interchangeable between kits?
No, the houses have been uniquely designed and individually packaged.

Are there any nut-free houses?
No, but if nut allergies are a problem, please let us know and we will try to accommodate your needs.

Can I purchase a house that is already decorated?
At this time, only house kits are being sold.

Can I transport the finished house?
Yes, the house will fit into its original box. Use the specially designed cake plate included in the kit. Your house can also be transported in one of Auntie Debbie’s 2-gallon display jars available for $22.

How do I keep the house from slipping off a plate or inside the special display jar?
To keep your finished house in place, simply lift it by inserting your fingers in the windows, and spread a little chocolate “glue” on the bottom edge of the house.

How do I keep the house fresh once it is made?
Placing the house in a display jar will keep it freshest. However, you can also keep it covered at night in the plastic bag included in your kit.

How long can I wait to eat the house after it’s built?
For best flavor, we recommend that you eat the house within a week if covered at night or keep it in our glass jar—sooner if it does not have such protection.

How long with the kit stay fresh?
If unopened, the kit will stay fresh for two months, thanks to vacuum sealing when packaged.

Can I keep my decorated house until next year?
Auntie Debbie’s houses are made to be eaten! After searching long and hard for her delicious decorations, this is her Number One Rule.

Will Auntie Debbie’s Gingerbread Factory have different designs for Christmas next year, or for other holidays?
Yes. We are currently working on Valentine’s Day and Easter and then will break as we gear up for Christmas.

How do I order?
We have tried to make ordering as simple as possible. All you need to do is browse in the shopping menu above. When you find an item you like, click on "Add to Cart". Like a real shopping cart, you can continue to add and remove items at will. When you are ready to make a purchase, click on "View Cart" from the above menu. Complete the shipping information below the cart to begin your checkout.

When will my order come?
Our kits are baked fresh and shipped out. Our next batch will be baked in early December and shipped in time for the holidays. Depending on where you are located, your order will arrive between 2-6 business days after we ship. If you should need it immediately, please call us at (262) 376-4468 and we can work something out. If there is a delay, we will inform you by email immediately. You will have the option of cancelling your order if we can not fill it in the time frame you request.

Why haven't I received my order?
If two weeks go by and you have not received your order, call us immediately at (262) 376-4468. We will let you know the status and try to figure out what went wrong.

Need to return something?
Any defective merchandise will gladly be exchanged. Please call us at (262) 376-4468 within seven days of receiving your order if there is any problem.

Do we do special orders?
We are pretty flexible and will try to accommodate any special requests.
